Blizzard Entertainment’s hit multiplayer shooter Overwatch is getting a week-long free trial on Nintendo Switch.

Starting October 13, Nintendo Switch Online subscribers can play Overwatch for free for an entire week. The trial will include all maps, heroes, and modes and runs from October 13-20, 2020.

Overwatch came to the Nintendo Switch a year ago, and although the game is getting on a bit, it still serves up a reliably entertaining slice of team-based FPS combat. The Switch port is a mixed bag, but it performs well enough and is reasonably impressive in handheld mode.

Any experience or items earned during the free trial event will transfer over to purchased copies of Overwatch: Legendary Edition. You can preload the game in advance by heading over to the Nintendo eShop.

The freebie is the latest in a series of benefits for Nintendo Switch Online members. A subscription also includes access to a library of NES and SNES games, plus exclusive titles like Tetris 99 and the recently released Super Mario Bros. 35.
