Super Meat Boy Forever and the complete Bit.Trip series headline this week’s lineup of new Nintendo Switch eShop releases.
The torrent of new Nintendo Switch games continues with more than 30 new arrivals. (Pity the poor Xbox, which has just three.)
We’ve played some of these games before, but we’re still pleased to see the likes of Double Dragon Neon make a surprise comeback. WayForward’s reboot of the classic beat ’em up franchise wasn’t ecstatically received in 2012, but its reputation has grown over time, and it comes with our recommendation.
We’re also thrilled to see all six Bit.Trip games finally come to Switch. Our favourites are Bit.Trip Beat, Bit.Trip Runner, and Bit.Trip Core, and although we played them before on Wii and 3DS, we’re looking forward to a repeat trip.
In terms of new games, the big release is Super Meat Boy Forever from Team Meat. The long-awaited sequel changes up the first game’s memorably brutal platforming with a randomised level structure that means no playthrough is ever the same. It includes over 1000 stages, and it will be a pleasure to die and die again on each and every one of them.
Other new Nintendo Switch releases include Override 2: Super Mech League, Neko Para Vol. 4, and The Last Dead End. We’ll update this page throughout the week with any late additions.
