Another batch of video game classics are our picks from this week’s lineup of new eShop releases for the Nintendo Switch.
Originally mooted for the Wii U, Oddworld: Stranger’s Wrath finally comes to a Nintendo console this week with a new Switch remaster. Apart from an HD bump and gyroscopic aiming, don’t expect any major changes, but do expect an engaging and action-packed adventure delivered with considerable style.
Two new additions to the Sega Ages library also arrive this week. Both Fantasy Zone and Shinobi get the M2 makeover treatment which includes save states, online leaderboards, replay options, and a few optional gameplay tweaks to make each game more accessible.
One new(ish) game coming to the Nintendo Switch is 198X from Hi-Bit Studios. It’s a clever coming-of-age story told through a variety of arcade game genres, from racing and fighting to platforming and role-playing. It’s not a long game, but it’s well-observed, atmospheric, and rather touching.
Other new Nintendo Switch releases include Warhammer 40,000: Space Wolf, SpeedRunners, and Mosaic. Here’s the current lineup of confirmed new games. We’ll update the lineup if things change throughout the week.
