Planet of the Apes: Last Frontier, from Andy Serkis’s The Imaginarium, will be released later this month.

Planet of the Apes: Last Frontier will initially be released on the PlayStation 4 on November 21, 2017 in North America and Europe. As far as we know the game is still due to be released on Xbox One and PC at a later date.

The game – which is developed by The Imaginati Studio – is an interactive drama set between the two most recent films in the movie series, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, and War for the Planet of the Apes.

Last Frontier lets players play and take the side of humans or apes, with every decision pushing towards an alliance, or war, between the two species.

The game’s most interesting aspect is that up to four players can take part in the story, working together to decide upon a course of action. Players can participate using either a PlayStation 4 controller, or iOS or Android devices via PS4 PlayLink.

Andy Serkis, star of the Planet of the Apes movies series and founder of The Imaginarium, said:

“Our aim is to bring new depth to choice-based adventure and offer that to our audience as an immersive, cinematic experience. I’m proud to say that Planet of the Apes: Last Frontier does just that, combining the merits of both premier performance capture and next-generation story-telling.”

The game will be released on the PlayStation Store on November 21, 2017, priced at £15.99/€19.99/$19.99. A special pre-order package is available that bundles in five avatars, and a copy of the game’s soundtrack.
