New PlayStation Store releases

Here are full details of next week’s new PlayStation Store releases for the PlayStation 4 and PS Vita.

The fifth game in Triumph’s long-running strategy franchise comes to PlayStation 4 next week with Age of Wonders : Planetfall. This time around the series heads in to space with a sci-fi setting that sees six different factions battle across a procedurally generated world map. In addition to the base game, Deluxe and Premium editions are available that include bonus cosmetics, and access to game’s season pass.

Our other two PS4 highlights are games from the past. FromSoftware’s Metal Wolf Chaos XD was first released for the original Xbox in 2004. Devolver Digital are bringing a remastered version of the cult mech battler to the West for the first time. It’s out on PlayStation 4 – and Xbox One – this week.

Finally, regular Thumbsticks readers will know how much we adore the remake of Wonderboy: The Dragon’s Trap. The 1986 arcade original now gets its own remaster in the shape of Wonder Boy Returns Remix. The source material isn’t as strong but Remix‘s anime-inspired visuals are pretty cute, and there are some new gameplay features overseen by series creator, Ryuichi Nishizawa.

Here’s the full lineup up of new PS4 and PS Vita releases.
