At last, the dirt-attracting white DualSense controllers for the PlayStation 5 aren’t the only option. Feel the rumble… in Crimson Red or Midnight Black!

PlayStation has revealed that two new DualSense controllers will be hitting shelves next month. The fantastic controllers, which arrived with the launch of the PlayStation 5, will be available in Midnight Black and Cosmic Red.

The DualSense controller was hailed for its superb implementation of haptic feedback. Haptic feedback allowed players to feel the weight of their gunshots, face trigger resistance, and even the rain at their fingertips – à la Returnal.

However, much like the sole colour available for the PlayStation 5 console – not like anyone can get their hands on them anyway – players have been calling out for new, less-easy-to-make-dirty colour options since its launch.

Sony has answered that call however with the new controllers, which will arrive in participating stores next month – although exact dates vary. The new colours are part of an “extensive selection process,” apparently,  according to design team member Leo Cardoso.

PlayStation also took the opportunity to highlight games that will see further implementation of the DualSense. Titles such as the upcoming Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart, Subnautica: Below Zero, Life is Strange: True Colours, and Kena: Bridge of Spirits will also see immersion-boosting support from the DualSense.

The DualSense controllers bring a world of possibilities to future titles, with Astro’s Playroom on its own highlighting their potential. Sony’s new colours are a welcome addition, though, and we can’t wait to spice up our PlayStation set-ups with a deep Crimson Red, or Midnight Black.

Now we just need coloured PS5 faceplates, Sony…
