Sony pulls out all the stops with five terrific games (sort of) coming to PlayStation Plus in February 2020.
For a while there, PlayStation Plus was in the doldrums. Xbox Games with Gold was besting it for quality and quantity month after month. However, with Microsoft now focussed on Xbox Game Pass, Sony has upped its game and continues a strong run of free PS4 titles with another blockbuster month.
The headline act is Bioshock: The Collection, a beautifully crafted compilation of HD remasters that includes all three games in the series – so far – and their story DLC. Although the ranking is a constant topic of discussion in the Thumbsticks dungeon – I say Bioshock 2 is the best, but Tom prefers Bioshock Infinite – it’s a trilogy of the highest calibre.
February’s PlayStation Plus lineup also includes EA’s ever-popular life simulator, The Sims 4, a time sink of a game if there ever was one.
There’s even a bonus game for PS VR owners to enjoy. Firewall Zero Hour is a thoroughly decent first-person shooter from First Contact that effectively blends tactical planning and moment-to-moment action. Hopefully, its inclusion is a sign that more PSVR games will be added to PlayStation Plus in future.
February’s free PS Plus games are available to download from February 4 to March 3, 2020.

We have a favour to ask
Thumbsticks has a couple of main aims. We want to write interesting articles and cover games that most outlets won't, and we want to give opportunities to new writers and new voices. And right now, with the current state of online publishing? It's tough! We hate to ask, but if you want us to continue writing what others won't, or to keep covering weird indie games, or to be able to give opportunities to new writers – and only if you can afford it – then please consider supporting us on Patreon.
