Do you miss The Drop? Fret not. Here’s our weekly roundup of the PlayStation Store’s upcoming PS4 and PS5 releases.
After last week’s PlayStation 5 launch shenanigans, things are calming down a little on the PlayStation Store. The week ahead features few PS5 games of note, but each PlayStation 4 release will run just fine on your giant new console.
The lineup begins and ends with updates to two colourful classics. Bubble Bobble 4 Friends: The Baron is Back is a surprisingly polished return for Taito’s fondly-remembered arcade platformer. It’s a generous package with 200 new levels and the original game included as a bonus. As the subtitle indicates, this update – which debuted on Nintendo Switch last year – features the return of the infamous Baron. (I’ll confess. I have absolutely no idea who the Baron is.)
The week concludes with the long-awaited PS4 release of Katamari Damacy Reroll. Keita Takahashi’s cult favourite roll em up is remastered for modern audiences without sacrificing the original’s charm.
Another notable release is the Croteam’s Serious Sam Collection. The pack includes Serious Sam HD: The First Encounter, Serious Sam HD: The Second Encounter, Serious Sam 3: BFE, and two content expansions.
Here’s the current – but likely to change – list of new PS4 and PS5 releases. We’ll keep this post updated throughout the week with any late additions.

We have a favour to ask
Thumbsticks has a couple of main aims. We want to write interesting articles and cover games that most outlets won't, and we want to give opportunities to new writers and new voices. And right now, with the current state of online publishing? It's tough! We hate to ask, but if you want us to continue writing what others won't, or to keep covering weird indie games, or to be able to give opportunities to new writers – and only if you can afford it – then please consider supporting us on Patreon.
