This week’s lineup of new PlayStation releases includes The House of the Dead: Remake and The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe.

Two remakes headline this week’s list of new PS4 and PS5 games. The House of the Dead: Remake gives the 1997 arcade rail shooter a graphical overhaul, gyroscopic aiming, and a new horde mode. We played the Nintendo Switch edition for a bit, and it rekindled some fond memories. Newcomers probably won’t be impressed, but it’s a fun and frantic trip down memory lane.

The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe is a trickier game to summarise. It’s something of a remake but also something of a pseudo-sequel. Regardless, we’re pleased to see the influential narrative adventure from Davey Wreden and William Pugh still playing with its audience.

We hate to ask

Thumbsticks has a couple of main aims. We want to write interesting articles and cover games that most outlets won't, and we want to give opportunities to new writers and new voices. But it's difficult to make ends meet in online publishing at the moment, so if you'd like to help us continue our work, you could always buy the team a cup of coffee.
