Days Gone and Mortal Kombat 11 headline next week’s lineup of new PlayStation 4, PS Vita and PS VR games.

Sony Bend’s open world action game arrives this week after a long period of development. Days Gone has been the subject of much ridicule since it was first announced at E3 2016, not least by us. Fortunately, the end product is inventive, technically impressive, and – if you don’t think about it too much – a whole lot of fun.

Also fun is munching on brains, blasting opponents into the blades of a helicopter, and smashing frozen skulls to pieces with an axe. Yes, Mortal Kombat is back. The latest game in the series sees a roster of 23 characters – including Raiden, Scorpion, and Sub-Zero – engage in thoughtful diplomacy to solve the world’s biggest problems.

The week’s other PS4 and PS Vita releases include Jupiter & Mars, Zeroptian Invasion, and DayD: Through Time. Here’s the full lineup.
