Little Nightmares II headlines this week’s lineup of new PlayStation Store releases for the PS5 and PS4.

Our pick of this week’s PlayStation releases is Little Nightmares II, the sequel to Tarsier Studio’s spooky 2017 adventure game. It’s another offbeat horror, this time set in the mysterious Pale City. Six, the protagonist of the first game, returns as a computer-controlled companion to Mono, the new player-controlled lead character who wears a paper bag on his head. It looks nicely weird and wonderful.

Another highlight is Death Crown. This minimalist real-time strategy game came to PC in 2019 where it received acclaim for its gameplay and stunning 1-bit style graphics. It’s not the longest game you’ll ever play, but it’s stylish and has an expertly judged difficulty curve.

Other new PlayStation releases include Aground and My Universe: Pet Clinic Cats and Dogs. There’s also a new content expansion for Romance of the Three Kingdoms XIV.

Here is the current list of confirmed new PS4 and PS5 releases. We’ll update this page throughout the week with any late additions.

We hate to ask, but...

Thumbsticks has a couple of goals. We want to write interesting articles and cover games that most outlets won't, and we want to give opportunities to new writers and new voices. And right now, with the current state of online publishing? It's tough to meet those goals! We hate to ask, but if you want us to continue writing what others won't, or to keep covering weird indie games, or to be able to give opportunities to new writers – and only if you can afford it – then please consider supporting us on Patreon.
