Wulverblade and Dissidia Final Fantasy NT lead the lineup of PlayStation 4 and PS Vita video games coming to the PlayStation Store on January 30, 2018.

It’s another packed week on the PlayStation Store with a varied selection of new games coming to the PlayStation 4.

Our pick of the week is Fully Illustrated’s Wulverblade, a cinematic – and sometimes rather brutal – take on the classic side-scrolling beat ’em ups of the early ’90s. Think Golden Axe or Knights of the Round, with added flair and a surprisingly engaging story.

Also released this week is the long-awaited console port of Team NInja’s Dissidia Final Fantasy. The game features more than 20 classic Final Fantasy characters who take to the arena to battle for, well, we’re not entirely sure. Erm, fun?

And if you’re looking for a more stripped back combat experience, check out EA Sports UFC 3.

We have a favour to ask

Thumbsticks has a couple of main aims. We want to write interesting articles and cover games that most outlets won't, and we want to give opportunities to new writers and new voices. And right now, with the current state of online publishing? It's tough! We hate to ask, but if you want us to continue writing what others won't, or to keep covering weird indie games, or to be able to give opportunities to new writers – and only if you can afford it – then please consider supporting us on Patreon.
