Red Dead Redemption 2 is the UK video game chart Christmas No.1

Dark Light

Rockstar’s Red Dead Redemption 2 holds No.1 in this week’s UK video game chart.

Red Dead Redemption 2 has retained top spot in the latest Ukie/GFK Chart Track software top 40.

The chart – which tracks physical software sales in the UK – also sees FIFA 19, and Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 remain in second and third. Activision’s Call of Duty series has topped the chart at Christmas for the past four years.

Nintendo Switch exclusive, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, falls one place to No.5, and last week’s No. 7, Battlefield V, climbs three positions to take its place at No.4.

Other top ten games include Mario Kart 8 Deluxe at No. 7, and Marvel’s Spider-Man at No. 8. It’s also a good week for Activision’s Crash Bandicoot and Spyro remasters.

Further down the chart the PlayStation 4 version of PUBG falls seven places to No.32. Ubisoft’s Starlink: Battle for Atlas makes a reappearance at No. 27 following some significant price cuts, and Astro Bot: Rescue Mission continues its stay in the top forty at No.33.
