The upcoming Spider-Man game for PS4 has a new trailer, showing off the game’s combat, as well as a word from its developers.

The coolest things to take on board: this is a Spider-Man that’s comfortable in his abilities.
“Our Spider-Man is obviously a more experienced Spider-Man. He’s not just learning how to swing, he swings with a lot of style, and a lot of confidence,” says art director Jacinda Chew.
He certainly does; one of the ways the game has impressed us so far is in its swinging, diving cinematic angles. It’s been shown off in an E3 trailer, and another one from Paris Games Week.
The combat looks crunchy and impactful already, clearly taking notes from Rocksteady’s work on the Batman games.
“You get to feel like Spider-Man more than you’ve ever done before,” says Jon Paquette, the game’s lead writer.
From the looks of the trailer, it has taken up the torch from Spider-Man 2 in this regard, swinging with grace and style.
One of the more exciting touches is the games use of gadgets, with projectile tasers shown off in the trailer. Bryan Intihar, the creative director at Insomniac says, “We just wanted to play up the fact that he has the ability to juggle between webs, melee, environmental interaction, and gadgets, and switch between them pretty quickly.”
Spider-Man is scheduled for release in the first half of 2018 for the PS4.
