Nintendo has released a brand new demo version of Splatoon 2 that also includes a seven-day free trial for Nintendo Switch Online.
The new Splatoon 2: Special Demo includes access to a limited-time online event that runs from March 19-25, 2019.
During the event participating players can try out the game’s 4-on-4 Turf War mode, Ranked Battles, League Battles, and Salmon Run horde mode.
Players who take part in an online game will also receive an email containing a code for a seven-day free trial of Nintendo Switch Online. The trial can be redeemed even if you have previously tried out Nintendo’s fledgling subscription service.
During the event, the full version of Splatoon 2 – which includes a complete single-player campaign – will be available via the Nintendo eShop with a 33% discount. The excellent Octo Expansion DLC is also reduced by 25%.
The demo is available to download right now from the Nintendo eShop.
