A busy week for Nintendo fans gets busier with the announcement that Monster Hunter Rise will feature in the next Tetris 99 Maximus Cup event.
Nintendo gamers have a lot of plates to spin this week. The Nintendo Switch OLED model finally arrives, and Super Monkey Ball Banana Mania, Metroid Dread, and Tetris Effect: Connected are all released.
Meanwhile, the console’s other great Tetris game is holding a new event to tie in with Capcom’s Monster Hunter Rise.
The 25th Maximus Cup event – or Grand Prix in Europe – will run from October 8-11, 2021. Players that accumulate 100 event points will unlock a new theme featuring art and music from the hit monster slaying game.
Here’s how the point allocations break down.
Tetris 99 Maximus Cup Points
- 1st – 100 points
- 2nd – 50 points
- 3rd – 30 points
- 4th-10th – 20 points
- 11th-30th – 15 points
- 31st-50th – 10 points
- 51st-90th – 5 points
- 91st-99th – 1 point
Recent Tetris 99 events have featured The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD, Mario Golf: Super Rush, Miitopia, and Kirby Fighters 2.
