This week’s Xbox Free Play Days games take players to a post-apocalyptic Wasteland, the Octagon, and 1950s America.

Are you looking for some new games to try on Xbox? Here’s a quick roundup of this week’s Free Play Days titles which are now available to Xbox Live Gold and Xbox Game Pass subscribers.

We posted about Bethesda’s cross-platform Fallout 76 promotion yesterday. The game is free on Xbox One this weekend and is also available on Steam and PlayStation 4 if you would prefer to play it there. I haven’t tried it, but by most accounts, the game is now in solid shape following two years of updates.

Also free to play is THQ Nordic’s handsome remake of Destroy All Humans! It’s a pretty spit and polish of the 2005 original, but there’s some new content enjoy, and causing mayhem with a Zap-O-Matic is always fun.

The last game on this week’s list is EA Sports’ mixed martial arts sim, UFC 4. In our review, Callum said the game “offers a solid update to UFC 3, with smoother combat, a more accessible entry point for new players and the most complete roster of fighters yet.”

Both Destroy All Humans! and UFC 4 are free to enjoy until the stroke of midnight on Sunday. Fallout 76 is available to play until the end of Monday. If you want to carry on after the free play period, each title is reduced on the Xbox Digital Games Store for a limited time. All progress and achievements carry over to purchased copies.

We hate to ask, but...

Thumbsticks has a couple of goals. We want to write interesting articles and cover games that most outlets won't, and we want to give opportunities to new writers and new voices. And right now, with the current state of online publishing? It's tough to meet those goals! We hate to ask, but if you want us to continue writing what others won't, or to keep covering weird indie games, or to be able to give opportunities to new writers – and only if you can afford it – then please consider supporting us on Patreon.
