The console edition of Two Point Hospital has been pushed back to next year.

Two Point Studios has confirmed that the console port of hospital management sim Two Point Hospital will now be released in the first half of 2020.

A port of the popular PC game was announced for PlayStation 4, Microsoft Xbox One and Nintendo Switch in July with an expected 2019 release.

In a new blog post, the studio explains that despite a warm response to the console version at recent press events, and from the public at Gamescom, more time and engineering work is required.

“Making a management simulation game on three consoles (and making it the best it possibly can be on all three), is a tricky programming puzzle.”

Speaking about the delay, Mark Webley, game director at Two Point Studios, adds:

“Our community have asked for Two Point Hospital on consoles for a while now and we want to make sure we deliver a game that can be enjoyed to the fullest on all platforms. This means we will need a little bit more time to optimise the game to ensure the best possible experience across all platforms.”
