Sega confirms the Valkyria Chronicles 4 release date, and reveals pre-order bonuses and special editions.
First things first, Valkyria Chronicles 4 will be released on PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and PC on September 25, 2018.
In North America, the initial batch of physical copies – plus all pre-order copies – will be branded as the Valkyria Chronicles 4 Launch Edition, and will come with a Ragnarok controller skin tailored for each console platform. European fans will have to make do with a Ragnarok sticker.
If you are really keen for some trinkets, the Memoirs from Battle Premium Edition is the version to go for. In addition to two new DLC adventures – featuring characters from the original Valkyria Chronicles – it will include a 100-page art book based on Claude’s in-game travel journal, and a vinyl replica of his tank, the Hafen.
Hopes are high for Valkyria Chronicles 4. Although the game’s cast is all new, it features the return of the BLiTZ battle system – which combines turn-based strategy, RPG and shooter elements – and a refined hand-drawn visual style courtesy of the Canvas Graphics Engine. Composer Hitoshi Sakimoto is also back to provide a new orchestral score.
You can find out more, and pre-order the game, at the official Valkyria Chronicles 4 website.
