The Last of Us Part 1 is among this week’s lineup of new video game releases for Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
You may have noticed some changes change around Thumbsticks recently. We have a new look and a new approach to games coverage. That means from now we won’t be publishing separate posts for each platform’s new releases. We expect that many of our readers own more than one system, so hopefully, you agree that it makes sense to cover everything in one place.
The Last of Us Part 1 is this week’s headline act on PlayStation 5. You could argue the game doesn’t need an upgrade. It’s already been remastered once, after all. However, it looks handsome, and the new accessibility features alone make it a worthwhile endeavour.
PlayStation owners can also lose themselves in Daniel Mullins’ excellent and inscrutable Inscryption. You can find out more about the making of the game right here.
Meanwhile, Xbox players can look forward to Immortality, the latest game from Sam Barlow, creator of Her Story and Telling Lies. Early word is positive, and that Edge 10 is surely a good sign.
It’s a quiet week on Switch but the charming Ooblets should be a good fit for Nintendo’s console. Other new releases include Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Cowabunga Collection and Lego Brawls.
