Bethesda confirm the release date – and unveil the first trailer – for the Nintendo Switch version of Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus.

Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus will launch on Nintendo Switch on June 29, 2018, Bethesda have confirmed.

The port of last year’s well received first-person shooter is being handled Panic Button – the studio behind the impressive Switch port of Bethesda’s Doom – under the guidance of original developer, MachineGames.

To mark the announcement, Wolfenstein II‘s first Nintendo Switch gameplay trailer has been released. And again, it appears that Panic Button has done another admirable job of squeezing a AAA, next-gen game onto Nintendo’s comparatively underpowered console.

The trailer also shows a glimpse of the Nintendo Switch Joy-Con motion controls in use.

Exact details of the game’s technical performance remain unknown, but at first blush we’re pretty impressed by the footage. We’re sure that Digital Foundry will be on the case as soon as time permits.

We can also expect to get a closer look at the game during Bethesda’s E3 2018 Media Showcase.
