Microsoft has announced the four free games coming to Xbox Games with Gold in December 2018.

First up is Q.U.B.E. 2 – that’s Quick Understanding of Block Extrusion – from Toxic Games. If you enjoy Portal-esque puzzlers, there’s a lot to like in this much improved sequel. It’s available to Xbox Live Gold members throughout December on Xbox One.

Between December 16 and January 15, Xbox One owners can also download Never Alone, Upper One Games’ touching puzzle adventure based on the traditional Iñupiaq tale, Kunuuksaayuka.

Over on Xbox 360 – and Xbox One via backwards compatibility – comes Dragon Age II, Bioware’s patchy but enjoyable RPG sequel, and Pandemic’s 2005 action game, Mercenaries: Playground of Destruction.

Xbox Games With Gold – December 2018

Xbox One

  • Q.U.B.E. 2 – December 1 to 31
  • Never Alone – December 16 to January 15

Xbox 360 and Xbox One

  • Dragon Age II– December 1 to 15
  • Mercenaries: Playground of Destruction – December 16 to 31

There’s still time to download three games from November’s Games with Gold lineup. Battlefield 1 and Dante’s Inferno are available until the end of the month, and Race the Sun is available until December 15, 2018.

We have a favour to ask

Thumbsticks has a couple of main aims. We want to write interesting articles and cover games that most outlets won't, and we want to give opportunities to new writers and new voices. And right now, with the current state of online publishing? It's tough! We hate to ask, but if you want us to continue writing what others won't, or to keep covering weird indie games, or to be able to give opportunities to new writers – and only if you can afford it – then please consider supporting us on Patreon.
