Hollow Knight and Forza Horizon 4 lead the lineup of new video games coming to the Xbox One between September 24-28, 2018.

The fourteen games released this week give the Xbox One its strongest lineup in some time.

For our money, Hollow Knight is the unequivocal highlight. Team Cherry’s game is a masterpiece of design and atmosphere that is rich with memorable – and challenging – moments. It’s an essential purchase.

Elsewhere, Forza Horizon 4 provides the Xbox One with an exclusive of some quality. This time the franchise takes to the lanes of the British countryside, bringing with it an impressive season-changing mechanic, and some James Bond DLC.

This week also sees the return of Sega’s beloved tactical RPG series in Valkyria Chronicles 4, and the first episode of Dontnod’s graphic adventure sequel, Life is Strange 2.

All of this week’s releases are available from the Xbox digital games store, or via the Microsoft web store. Here’s the full release lineup.

We hate to ask, but...

Thumbsticks has a couple of goals. We want to write interesting articles and cover games that most outlets won't, and we want to give opportunities to new writers and new voices. And right now, with the current state of online publishing? It's tough to meet those goals! We hate to ask, but if you want us to continue writing what others won't, or to keep covering weird indie games, or to be able to give opportunities to new writers – and only if you can afford it – then please consider supporting us on Patreon.
