Darksiders Genesis leads this week’s lineup of new Xbox One Digital Game Store releases.

Airship Syndicate’s hack-and-slash RPG, Darksiders Genesis, headlines the list of new games coming to Xbox One this week. The game was first released on PC and Stadia at the end of last year and has proved to be a worthy spin-off from the main Darksiders series. Genesis introduces Strife, the fourth Horseman of the Apocalypse, who must team up with War to defeat Lucifer’s forces of evil. The game adds co-op play to the series for the first time and it’s definitely one to check out if you enjoy the likes of Diablo.

More relaxed pursuits can be found in Glass Masquerade 2: Illusions. Onyx Lute delivers another stunning collection of stained-glass inspired puzzles to solve, each backed by a delicately ethereal score from composer Nikita Sevalnev.

Budding tennis champs can also take to the court with the North American release of BigAnt’s sports simulation, AO Tennis 2. To find out more about the development of the game, read our interview with studio CEO, Ross Symons.

Other new Xbox One games include Super Mega Space Blaster Special Turbo, UnderHero, and Project Starship. Each new release can be purchased from the Xbox One digital games store and Microsoft online store. Here’s the confirmed lineup.

We have a favour to ask

Thumbsticks has a couple of main aims. We want to write interesting articles and cover games that most outlets won't, and we want to give opportunities to new writers and new voices. And right now, with the current state of online publishing? It's tough! We hate to ask, but if you want us to continue writing what others won't, or to keep covering weird indie games, or to be able to give opportunities to new writers – and only if you can afford it – then please consider supporting us on Patreon.
