Dark Light

There’s a bumper crop of new video games coming to the Xbox One this week. Here’s a quick guide to what you can look forward to playing.

There aren’t any major Xbox One releases to get excited about this week, but there are a few indie games that might scratch an itch if May’s Games with Gold titles miss the mark.

Pushy and Pully in Blockland plays just like its name suggests. It’s a retro-style arcade adventure in which two players team up to solve block puzzles and escape a planet full of monsters. It looks like colourful co-op chaos.

If you’re looking for some fast-paced 2D action, take your pick from Fury Unleashed, Reed 2, Infinite: Beyond the Mind, and Emma: Lost in Memories. Each one has a blend of platforming and action gameplay.

And if you can’t decide what to play, try SuperMash. Digital Continue’s game brings a range of popular genres together – including stealth, action, role-playing and shoot ’em ups –  to create a unique game every time you play. It’s a cool concept, if not entirely successful in execution.

Finally, this week’s “RPG with roguelike elements” release is Sin Slayers: Enhanced Edition.

Each new game can be purchased from the Xbox One digital games store and Microsoft online store. Here’s the confirmed new release lineup.
