Dynasty Warriors 9 Empires and The King of Fighters XV headline this week’s lineup of new Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One releases.

With the release of Rumbleverse pushed back, there’s a relatively modest list of new games coming to Xbox consoles.

Our pick of the week is Dynasty Warriors 9 Empires. Koei Tecmo’s game gives the well-received 2018 Musou a strategic makeover with tactical castle sieges and a more linear structure. It might not reach a wide audience, but fans of the base game will likely appreciate the returning affinity system and emphasis on character relationships.

Another highlight is SNK’s The King of Fighters XV. The latest entry in the beloved fighting game franchise sees a move to Unreal Engine and the debut of GGPO rollback networking for online play. If the XV in the title is daunting, an updated version of the single button Rush feature returns to help newcomers perform the game’s spectacular combs and specials.

Other Xbox releases include Fluffy Cubed, Beat Souls, and Mages and Treasures. We’ll update this article with any late arrivals throughout the week.
