Did Eiji Aonuma just tease a Nintendo Switch port of The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword?
According to reports from Japan, Zelda series producer, Eiji Aonuma, has teased an upcoming Nintendo Switch port of The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword.
Speaking on stage at The Legend of Zelda: Concert 2018, Aonuma said, “We know what you are thinking, Skyward Sword on Switch, right?”
Although we’ll pop this one on the rumour pile for the time being, it seems highly likely to happen at some stage. Nintendo have previously published ports of Ocarina of Time and Majora’s Mask on the Nintendo 3DS, and The Wind Waker and Twilight Princess on the Nintendo Wii U.
The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword would certainly be a greater technical challenge, due to its heavy reliance on motion controls, but it would wonderful to see the game’s pastel-like art style in glorious 1080p.
Although the game has its detractors, it also offers some of the finest dungeons in the entire series, and its ‘canon’ position as the very first game in the Zelda timeline makes it a treat for longtime fans of the franchise.
