Dauntless is the latest video game to run a special event for Halloween.

The limited-time Dark Harvest event begins today in free-to-play action-RPG, Dauntless. The event transforms the game world into a creepy, everlasting night. Glowing gourds and candlelit stalls will help players find their way around but watch out for a mysterious dark cult.

Phoenix Labs say that Dauntless will become even spookier for Halloween with the launch of the Haunted Shadows Hunt Pass season on October 31, 2019. The new season adds new rewards, including a full set of haunted shadows armour and a new Ghost of a Dog emote.

The season will also bring some technical and gameplay updates including an AFK kick timer, improvements to the in-game compass and the option to turn Patrol Chests off and on. You can read the full patch notes on the game’s official blog.

Dauntless is out now on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.

We hate to ask, but...

Thumbsticks has a couple of goals. We want to write interesting articles and cover games that most outlets won't, and we want to give opportunities to new writers and new voices. And right now, with the current state of online publishing? It's tough to meet those goals! We hate to ask, but if you want us to continue writing what others won't, or to keep covering weird indie games, or to be able to give opportunities to new writers – and only if you can afford it – then please consider supporting us on Patreon.
