Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze

Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze re-enters the UK software chart, but can’t claim No.1 from God of War.

It’s a relatively quiet week in the GFK Chart Track Top 40 Entertainment Software Chart, with the Nintendo Switch re-release of Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze the only new entry in the Top 10.

The Kongs land at No.2 – thus proving the worth of the recent spate of Wii U reissues – but are unable to topple Kratos and son, who remain at No.1 for a third week.

Further down the chart, Far Cry 5 remains in the top five, falling one place to third position, and Super Mario Odyssey falls two places to No.10.

Lego Marvel Super Heroes 2 jumps back into the Top 10, rising six places to No.6. Its improved performance no doubt bolstered by the release of Avengers: Infinity War.

The Nintendo Labo Variety Kit drops out of the Top 10 to No.13, and the more expensive Robot Kit leaves the Top 40 altogether.

You can see the full UK software chart for the week ending May 5, 2018 at the GFK Chart Track website.

We have a favour to ask

Thumbsticks has a couple of main aims. We want to write interesting articles and cover games that most outlets won't, and we want to give opportunities to new writers and new voices. And right now, with the current state of online publishing? It's tough! We hate to ask, but if you want us to continue writing what others won't, or to keep covering weird indie games, or to be able to give opportunities to new writers – and only if you can afford it – then please consider supporting us on Patreon.
