Here’s how to download the Legendary Pokémon Yveltal and Xerneas to Pokémon Sun, Ultra Sun, Moon, or Ultra Moon.
The year-long celebration of Legendary Pokémon continues in May with free downloads of two Kalos region favourites, Yveltal and Xerneas.
In the US, head to any participating GameStop store from May 4–27, 2018 to pick up a download code that will allow you to get Yveltal in Pokémon Ultra Sun or Pokémon Sun, or Xerneas in Pokémon Ultra Moon or Pokémon Moon.
In Canada and Australia, head to your local EB Games. And in the UK, pop into to any participating branch of Game between May 4–26, 2018,
Each Legendary has a different level and move-set depending on the game it’s downloaded to.
The level 100 Ultra Sun version of Yveltal features the Dark Aura ability, plus the Oblivion Wing, Dark Pulse, Heat Wave, and Tailwind moves. The Level 60 version in Sun has the same ability, plus Oblivion Wing, Dark Pulse, Phantom Force, and Psychic moves
The level 100 Ultra Moon version of Xerneas features the Fairy Aura ability, and is armed with Geomancy, Focus Blast, Grass Knot, and Moonblast. The Level 60 Moon version has the same ability, plus the Geomancy, Horn Leech, Night Slash, and Moonblast moves.
How to download Yveltal and Xerneas
- Charge up your 3DS, turn it on and make sure you can connect to the internet.
- Boot up either Sun, Ultra Sun, Moon, or Ultra Moon and select the ‘Mystery Gift’ option on the main menu.
- Select ‘Receive Gift’.
- You’ll be asked if it’s OK to open a Communication Channel, say ‘Yes’.
- Select ‘Get with Code/Password, ’.
- Select ‘Yes’ when asked if you want to connect to the internet.
- Watch the two ’80s Ewok movies while the Nintendo 3DS does its thing.
- When asked if you want to ‘Receive this gift?’ say ‘Yes’.
- Once received, your new Pokémon can be obtained from the delivery person in any Pokémon Center. Make sure you have a vacant spot in your party.
- And make sure to save your game!
Next month you can look forward to receiving the Legendary Pokémon Shiny Zygarde.
