Here’s how to get your free download of Lugia for Pokémon Sun or Ultra Sun, and Ho-Oh for Pokémon Moon or Ultra Moon.
This year’s celebration of Legendary Pokémon continues with the distribution of Ho-Oh and Lugia. Here’s how to get your free download code.
This month’s Pokémon will require a little effort to obtain. In the UK and Spain, you’ll need to head to your local branch of Game between November 2–25, 2018, to pick up a code. In the United States, Germany, Ireland, and Italy, visit your local GameStop store, and in Australia and Canada, head down to EB Games. Players in France can pick up their codes from Micromania.
Here are the levels, moves, items, and abilities for each of November’s two Legendary Pokémon.
Lugia
Pokémon Ultra Sun
- Level: 100
- Held Item: Gold Bottle Cap
- Ability: Pressure
- Moves: Aeroblast, Earth Power, Psychic, Tailwind
Pokémon Sun
- Level: 60
- Ability: Pressure
- Moves: Skill Swap, Aeroblast, Extrasensory, Ancient Power
Ho-Oh

- Level: 100
- Held Item: Gold Bottle Cap
- Ability: Pressure
- Moves: Sacred Bird, Brave Bird, Earthquake, Tailwind

How to download Ho-Oh and Lugia
- Charge up your Nintendo 3DS, turn it on, and ensure sure you can connect to the information superhighway.
- Load up either Sun, Ultra Sun, Moon, or Ultra Moon, and select the ‘Mystery Gift’ option on the main menu.
- Select ‘Receive Gift’.
- You’ll be asked if it’s OK to open a Communication Channel, say ‘Yes’.
- Select ‘Get with Code/Password, or ‘Get via Internet’, depending on your region.
- Either enter the download code, or connect to the internet.
- When asked if you want to ‘Receive this gift?’ say ‘Yes’.
- Once received, Ho-Oh or Lugia can be obtained from the delivery person loitering in any Pokémon Center.
- Make sure you have a vacant spot in your party, and be sure to save your game when you’re done.
