Geeks Line will be adding the GameCube Anthology to its growing range of video game console books.

We don’t often cover Kickstarter campaigns here on Thumbsticks, but a) this one has already surpassed its funding goal, and b) Geeks Line Publishing have yet to disappoint us with their range of comprehensive video game console retrospectives.

GameCube Anthology is the latest book from the France-based publisher, and follows on from English-language anthologies covering the Nintendo 64, and original PlayStation.

This 360 page hardback will provide a history of the console, including its hardware, development, public reception, and impact. It will also cover all 647 games released for the GameCube, detailing their release date, developer, publisher, and genre with full-colour illustrations and screenshots.

The KickStarter-exclusive Ultimate Edition will also include a companion volume containing box art for every Nintendo GameCube release, including regional variations for many titles.

Assuming the book continues the high-standards of its predecessors, it will be another essential purchase. Our own Josh Wise recently reviewed the PlayStation Anthology, calling it “a lovingly crafted work of reference.” And 2016’s Nintendo 64 Anthology remains my go-to guide for Nintendo’s third home console.

With less than 24 hours to go the campaign has reached €75,425 of its €40,000 goal. Visit the book’s KickStarter page to find out more.
