Ubisoft’s Far Cry 5 holds firm at number one in this week’s UK software chart.

A relatively quiet week in latest GFK Chart Track Top 40 Entertainment Software Chart sees Far Cry 5 retain top spot in.

The varied critical reception for Ubisoft’s open world action game hasn’t affected its commercial performance, which holds steady in a week without any significant new releases. In fact, the top three – which also includes FIFA 18 and Sea of Thieves – is exactly the same as last week.

However, there is some movement elsewhere in the top ten, with Forza Motorsport 7 climbing from ninth to fourth, presumably on the back of various retailer discounts and promotions.

The Xbox One edition of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, and the multi-format Call of Duty: WWII, hold onto positions four and five. And the popular platformers Crash Bandicoot N.Sane Trilogy, and Super Mario Odyssey, leap back into the upper reaches of the top 40 in spots nine and ten, respectively.

Further down the chart, the recently revamped Star Wars Battlefront II re-enters at 16. And the recent price drop for PS VR sees PlayStation VR Worlds climb impressively from 37 to 20.
