Ubisoft’s Far Cry 5 takes the number one position in the latest UK software chart.

The latest GFK Chart Track Top 40 Entertainment Software Chart sees one new entry in the top ten, Far Cry 5, and it’s straight in at the top. Despite a mixed critical reception, the game is already the UK’s the fastest-selling entry in the series. Last week’s number one, Sea of Thieves, holds steady in the upper reaches of the chart, but drops slightly to third position.

Elsewhere, the top ten sees a bit of a shuffle, in part due to some Easter sales and promotions. FIFA 18 is up three spaces to two, and last week’s number two, A Way Out, slips to seventh.

Two big climbers are Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, and PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, which take fourth and fifth, respectively. And a ninth place re-entry for Forza Motorsport 7 means that there are three Xbox One exclusives in the top ten.

Last week we expressed a little surprise at the poor performance of Detective Pikachu. With the game perhaps benefitting from good word-of-mouth, things are looking better for the loveable electric rat. The 3DS exclusive jumps from 23 to 15.
