For the King is free on the Epic Games Store

For the King - Epic Games Store
IronOak Games

Get For the King, IronOak Games’ turn-based strategy game, for free until next Thursday.

I have never played For the King, but here’s the Epic Games Store description of the 2018 strategy game if you’re curious:

For The King is a challenging blend of strategy, turn-based combat, and roguelike elements. Each playthrough is unique with procedural maps, quests, and events. Explore Fahrul in either single player, local, or online co-op.”

There you have it, folks. If this is your first Epic Games Store rodeo, you’ll need to make an Epic account and download the launcher in order to claim your free game. Previous giveaways have included Watch Dogs, The Stanley Parable, and six Batman games at once.

Here’s a link to the page where you can start that process.

And fans of horror and/or Diablo-likes will want to be prepared for next week. Now that For the King is free, Epic has revealed next week’s duo of freebies. 2010 horror game Amnesia: The Dark Descent and 2016 ARPG Crashlands will be free starting next Thursday.

We have a favour to ask

Thumbsticks has a couple of main aims. We want to write interesting articles and cover games that most outlets won't, and we want to give opportunities to new writers and new voices. And right now, with the current state of online publishing? It's tough! We hate to ask, but if you want us to continue writing what others won't, or to keep covering weird indie games, or to be able to give opportunities to new writers – and only if you can afford it – then please consider supporting us on Patreon.
