A next-gen upgrade for A Plague Tale: Innocence headlines the list of new Xbox releases for the week of July 5, 2021.

Oh, rats! There’s a slim lineup of new games coming to Xbox consoles in the next week, but at least there’s another Xbox Series X|S upgrade to look forward to.

A Plague Tale: Innocence is one of last generation’s unexpected success stories. The survival stealth adventure won acclaim for its impressive rat hordes, evocative locations, and narrative. It’s amusing to think that developer Asobo Studio was previously best known for its Disney Pixar adaptations, and followed Innocence with last year’s instant classic, Microsoft Flight Simulator. That’s one talented studio.

The next-gen edition A Plague Tale: Innocence features 4K resolution at 60fps, improved load times, and audio enhancements. It’s also releasing on PlayStation 5 as one of July’s free PS Plus games.

Other new Xbox releases include Indigo 7 Quest of Love, Imagine Earth, and Beasts of Maravilla Island. We’ll update this release list throughout the week with any late additions.
