Abzû and This War of Mine lead this week’s list of eShop video game releases for the Nintendo Switch.
More than 30 games hit the Nintendo eShop this week, but it’s the old classics that catch our eye once again.
This War of Mine from 11 bit studios was first released in 2014, and won plaudits for its affecting look at the experience of war. The Switch’s Complete Edition includes all post-release DLC, including the Father’s Promise, and War Child content expansions.
Another game that will linger long in the memory is Abzû, from Matt Nava’s Giant Squid Studios. It’s a beautiful and thought-provoking aquatic adventure that we highly recommend.
Also coming to Switch is mobile darling, Superbrothers: Sword & Sworcery EP, a retro remake of R-Type fromTozai Games, and Studio Wildcard’s popular adventure survival game, Ark: Survival Evolved.
One new game worth a look is The First Tree from David Wehle. Set in the wilds of Alaska, the game tells the parallel stories of a fox looking for her family, and a boy’s journey to reconnect with his estranged father.
This list is subject to change – expect a NeoGeo game at the very least – but we’ll keep it updated throughout the week.
