Cyber Shadow and The Pedestrian headline this week’s lineup of new PlayStation Store releases for the PS5 and PS4.

After an excruciating wait, The Pedestrian finally arrives on PS4 and PS5 this week. It’s a side-scrolling puzzle platformer from Skookum Arts based around the iconography of everyday street signage. The game is relentlessly inventive and deserves to be as big a hit on PlayStation as it was on PC.

Another 2D side-scroller to be excited for is Cyber Shadow from Mechanical Head Studios. It’s a fast-paced action game that blends the aesthetics of the 8-bit era with modern design sensibilities. Tellingly, this retro-style platformer is published by Yacht Club Games, makers of Shovel Knight.

Other new PlayStation releases include Atelier Ryza 2: Lost Legends & the Secret Fairy and Thomas Olsson’s swashbuckling platform adventure, Olija. There’s also new DLC for The Sims 4 and Dead Cells.

Here is the current list of confirmed new PS4 and PS5 releases. We’ll update this page throughout the week with any late additions.

We hate to ask, but...

Thumbsticks has a couple of goals. We want to write interesting articles and cover games that most outlets won't, and we want to give opportunities to new writers and new voices. And right now, with the current state of online publishing? It's tough to meet those goals! We hate to ask, but if you want us to continue writing what others won't, or to keep covering weird indie games, or to be able to give opportunities to new writers – and only if you can afford it – then please consider supporting us on Patreon.
