Far Cry 5 and MLB The Show 18 lead next week’s lineup of PlayStation Store releases for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita.

Next week’s roster of PlayStation Store games gives players the chance to enjoy two slices of Americana.

The big release of the week is Far Cry 5, the latest instalment in Ubisoft’s globe-trotting adventure series. This time around the open-world shooter is set in Montana, where spooky preacher, Joseph Seed, has taken over the fictional Hope County with his mysterious cult.

If bringing down dangerous doomsday merchants sounds a little stressful, you can always relax with America’s national pastime in MLB The Show 18. Early reviews suggest that SIE San Diego has made a number of small but noticeable improvements to the long-running sports franchise.

Other notable releases include Tempest 4000, RollerCoaster Tycoon: Joyride, and Atari Flashback Classics Vol. 3.

We have a favour to ask

Thumbsticks has a couple of main aims. We want to write interesting articles and cover games that most outlets won't, and we want to give opportunities to new writers and new voices. And right now, with the current state of online publishing? It's tough! We hate to ask, but if you want us to continue writing what others won't, or to keep covering weird indie games, or to be able to give opportunities to new writers – and only if you can afford it – then please consider supporting us on Patreon.
