State of Decay 2 is confirmed for release on Xbox One and Windows 10 PC in May, preorders are open now.
Microsoft have confirmed that Undead Labs’ zombie survival sequel, State of Decay 2, will be released on May 22, 2018. The game will come to Xbox One and PC as an Xbox Play Anywhere title, and will also be available day-and-date to members of the Xbox Game Pass subscription service.
Even if you’re not a Game Pass subscriber, the game won’t break the bank. The standard edition is priced at a very reasonable $29.99 in the US, with the Ultimate Edition coming in at $49.99. The Ultimate Edition includes four days early access, plus the post-release ‘Independence’ and ‘Daybreak’ downloadable content packs. It also includes a free download code for the original game in the shape of State of Decay: Year-One Survival Edition.
State of Decay 2 expands significantly on the first game, adding cross-platform co-op for up to four players across Xbox One or PC.
Speaking to Xbox Wire, Microsoft’s Aaron Greenberg said:
“Our goal is to build a long-term relationship with the State of Decay community and to foster deeper experiences with the franchise. We believe State of Decay 2 accomplishes this goal by immersing fans in the ultimate zombie survival fantasy, and we want to give more players the opportunity to join in and experience this unique game”
Pre-orders for State of Decay 2 are open now at the Microsoft store and the usual online retailers.
