The return of Fable and Metal Gear leads the lineup of games coming to the Xbox One Games Store between February 19–23, 2018.

The Fable series returns to the Xbox One this week, sort of. Fable Fortune is a collectible card game based on the much-loved RPG franchise, and although it’s no substitute for a full follow-up, it does capture the style and humour of Lionhead’s work. It’s not essential, but it does keep the candle burning.

Also released this week is Metal Gear Survive, a controversial Kojima-less entry in the Metal Gear cannon. The game has some work to do to convince fans, but it’s probably not a terrible as we all expected.

Our pick from the rest of this week’s Xbox One releases is Symmetry, a sci-fi survival management game set on an abandoned planet from Sleepless Clinic.

We have a favour to ask

Thumbsticks has a couple of main aims. We want to write interesting articles and cover games that most outlets won't, and we want to give opportunities to new writers and new voices. And right now, with the current state of online publishing? It's tough! We hate to ask, but if you want us to continue writing what others won't, or to keep covering weird indie games, or to be able to give opportunities to new writers – and only if you can afford it – then please consider supporting us on Patreon.
