Electronic Arts is releasing a free content update for FIFA 18 that adds this year’s World Cup tournament.
Lovers of the beautiful game rejoice, the days of creating custom international cup tournaments are over. EA Sports are releasing a free 2018 FIFA World Cup update for FIFA 18 next month.
The update will feature the official stadiums, badges, and kits from the upcoming World Cup in Russia, as well as the tournament’s official match ball and trophy. Every one of the 32 participating nations will be included, as well as the ability to include non-qualifying nations such as Italy, Chile, and USA.
The free update will be released on May 29, 2018, for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch. The PS4, Xbox One, and PC versions will also receive the official ‘2018 FIFA World Cup Russia graphic and broadcast package’, which adds cinematic flair, and various cut scenes to bring the tournament to life.
The Nintendo Switch version, however, remains the only version in which you can score a World Cup-winning goal on the toilet.
Meanwhile, FIFA Ultimate Team gets a World Cup revamp with a revised chemistry system, new iconic World Cup players, and new dynamic items related to the real-world tournament.

We have a favour to ask
Thumbsticks has a couple of main aims. We want to write interesting articles and cover games that most outlets won't, and we want to give opportunities to new writers and new voices. But it's hard to do that in the current financial climate. If you'd like to help us fund these aims, you could always buy the team a cup of coffee.
